Suregrip Head Stud Kit for Northstar V8. This Kit includes install tooling. This is the kit that you want if you are planning to successfully repair head gasket issues on a Northstar. This kit beats out ALL others on the market, hands down. Forget threaded inserts, unless you like doing things twice. We like fixing things once, and for good! This kit will achieve that.

Kit contents:
• 20 Suregrip Cylinder Head Studs
• 20 High strength nuts
• 20 Through Hardened Washers
• 1 Drill bit with a pre-set stop
• 1 Threading tap with depth mark
• 1 bottle of threadlocker (50mL)
• 1 X-Plate® Self aligning Drill/Tap Fixture
• 4 Fixture bolts to secure fixture to engine block
• Instruction page

This kit will repair one engine, both left and right banks. The tooling can be used on future Northstar builds.
U.S. Patent 8,740,532. Designed and developed by Jake Wiebe (a Northstar owner) and manufactured in Canada from USA sourced steel and components. Studs are roll threaded after heat treatment.

For instance, our head sets include the timing cover gasket, front crank seal, and catalytic converter gasket. The other guys leave all that out. Make VERY sure you use good quality gaskets such as Fel-Pro, or even better: Cometic MLS. If you have a bit of money to spare, go with Cometic- you won't regret it.

***Disclaimer***: These Suregrip Head Stud Sets are dual diameter (oversized). Your block will need to be drilled and tapped to accept these head studs. No need for any sort of threaded insert or heli-coil with our studs. These are very straightforward to use and install.

Final torque specs are included in the package, but are as follows: 30, 60, 75 ft lbs on the nuts only- dry with no oil. Do not exceed this torque.
